I will be presenting “From Viewport to Virtual Production: Real-Time Ray Tracing with Chaos Vantage” at SIGGRAPH 2026 as part of NVIDIA RTX Rendering Day.
This session explores how artists and technical teams can use Chaos Vantage, including NVIDIA DLSS and its Hydra delegate in SideFX Solaris, to render natively assembled OpenUSD scenes and Gaussian splat assets directly in the viewport.
The presentation connects real-time ray tracing, production USD workflows, and virtual production review into one practical workflow story: bringing look development, interactive review, and on-set decision-making closer together.
The main idea
From viewport to virtual production.
Production scenes are becoming heavier, more complex, and more connected to USD-based workflows. The opportunity is to bring high-quality ray-traced feedback closer to the place where artists already make decisions: the viewport.
This session focuses on reducing the gap between final rendering, interactive review, and virtual production by keeping artists inside production context instead of forcing them through slow export-review-approve loops.

The goal is not only faster rendering. The real value is faster feedback: helping artists and supervisors make better creative decisions while the work is still flexible.
